CityLips Original Lip Plumper - before & after, swatches, pics, review

Hello, Beautiful!

I'm a fan of lip plumpers, but some that I've tried have been too strong with their tingle, can burn, can cause a lot of redness around my mouth, or they just don't plump my lips enough. I certainly don't want duck lips, but slightly fuller lips is nice to have. When I first received CityLips Original Lip Plumper in the mail I couldn't wait to try it out... and I was so happy with my results!

Check out my pics, swatches, stats, and review...

Formula:
This lip plumper is specially formulated to naturally stimulate collagen production while luxurious moisturizers quickly absorb within the lips to sooth and plump, even dry lips (like mine). This Original Formula repairs and renews lips, revealing fewer lines, decreased wrinkles, and a smoother, fuller, hydrated lip. Reverses the signs of aging, free-radical damage, and dryness. City Lips uses their exclusive Oligopeptide and Celadrin technology, which are the only ingredients that repair and build collagen while visibly reducing the lips wrinkles caused by free radical damage. Oligopeptide and Celadrin work to painlessly stimulate your lips, causing them to build their own collagen and hyaluronic acid. With continued use, your lips are visibly fuller, younger, and healthier looking.

Wear:
The results last a pretty good length of time. I haven't timed it, but you shouldn't need to apply this all that much. The instructions say to use this at night, before bed, but I've been using it morning and night because I really love this product.

Coverage:
This is a clear gloss, but it does enhance your lips color due to the way the plumping works.

Shade Info:
The Original Formula is clear, but there are colored options in the Advanced Formula. I'll show you some colored options (the mini sets) in the future on this blog.

CityLips Original Lip Plumper Review:
I really love this lip plumper! It has a nice scent, although I can't really pin-point what it is. It's a light scent, so nothing over powering. There was no stinging or burning at all, but I did feel a very subtle tingle. The tingle felt good - like bubbles on your lips. For sure a gentle tingle, nothing even close to the "tingle" of other lip plumpers that are rather intense.

This plumper went on very smooth and instantly hydrated my lips. It felt very comfortable on, was non-sticky, very shiny, and I could see some slight results right away. However, the real magic comes after 10 minutes.

After 10 minutes my lips were noticeably plumped, and I was in love! Of course results will vary for each person, but for me, this is my perfect lip plumper. I can't wait to test out the mini set I also have (I have the CITY Chic 4-pack of minis).

Overall, yes, I would recommend this!

  1. If I had to pick one SPECIFIC must-have beauty product, it would be CityLips original.
I nearly panicked when I thought it was gone for good.

  2. I agree with you that fuller lips looks better but no one wants duck lips. I tried some lip plumper but none of them works for me, I feel the tingle but lips aren't bigger Well, I guess I have to look harder because you always find the best products ;)

  3. I am 27 and have tried a lot of lip plumpers.

The best I have found so far is City Lips Advanced Formula. http://www.citylips.com/city-lips-advanced-formula-lip-plumper.html

I have a naturally full mouth but love lip plumpers because they get rid of the wrinkles on my lips. I love the look of modelesque smooth lips.

I have tried a lot of lip plumpers. Mostly picking them up at the drugstore or buying whatever they have on sale at TJ Maxx. I never would have paid more than $15 for a lip plumper.

Then, I was going out with some friends one night and when we were getting ready I asked one of them if I could borrow her lip gloss because the color was really pretty. She let me borrow her City Lips, (it was a colored one, but I don't remember the shade.) I hadn't realized it was a lip plumper at first, because normally the lip plumpers I try irritate my lips when I put them on. they also leave a red ring around my lips and this one didn't do anything like that.

What the lip plumper DID do was completely smooth the wrinkles from my lips and make them look fuller and poutier. I felt so gorgeous that night! I also noticed that when the City Lips wore off, my lips remained soft. Normally when my gloss or plumper wears off it leaves my lips drier than even.

After that experience, I bought the clear gloss for everyday wear, and I love it. My lips are even starting to remain wrinkle free for some time after the product wears off. The only drawback is that it can be difficult to get all of the product out of the tube.
